Below are two examples of Maori interpretation of Geology. Not everyone has to believe these stories but it is always good to see someone else's point of view. Some things may seem unlikely to happen in real life but this is what some cultures believe.

This Maori Legend gives reasoning for why New Zealand has a north island and how it came about. It also tells people why there are mountains, rivers, crevasses and other geological formations.
